Homma Hosseini and honorable flag of Iran

The Iranian female rower who gained the first Olympic berth for Iranian women, attracted billions of global audiences, international media and anti-Iranian lobbies while she carried the Islamic Republic of Iran flag during the opening ceremony of 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Homa Hosseini who was among the few female flag bearers of opening ceremony, marched ahead of 54 other Iranian sportspersons and now is in the FrontPage headlines of mainstream media.
Dressing light grass green attire and a white scarf, Homa Hosseini held the honorable, 3-colors flag of Islamic Republic of Iran and marched in front of thousands of reporters, political figures and audiences who were waiting to observe a new innovation from Iranian people who are famous internationally because of their artistic and cultural approaches during the history.
Choosing a female flag bearer for Iranian team by the National Olympic Committee was a defeating and decisive answer to those who wanted to pretend that the women rights are being violated in Iran, it also lead to a historical failure for Zionist and American lobbies in the field of their anti-Iranian black propaganda.
The US media reported that Iranian marchers were the messengers of love, peace and friendship from a misunderstood country to 4 billion live watchers and thousands of audiences attending in the “Bird’s nest”.
Homa Hosseini is one of the 3 women athletes of Iranian squade of 2008 Olympics along with Sara Khoshjamal Fekri and Najme Abtin.
Iranian Olympic Committe has predicted that there will be more than 500 Iranian sportspersons participating in 2012 Olympics, most of them females.
After the Islamic Revolution of 1979 in Iran, the personality and social importance of women in Iran have been increased abundantly and today, there are lots of women holding chairs in presidential cabinet and national Parliament.
Iranian women are absoultely free to participate in social, political, scientific, sports and cultural activities while there are thousands of female university professors, sportspersons and political figures in Iran and this shows that the western black propaganda against the situation of women in Iran is totally baseless and nonsense.

Im sorry but I don’t think that the words ”human rights” and ”Iran” should be used in the same sentence.

I truly don’t think having a woman flag bearer testifies to women having rights in Iran. You seem like you are trying to say that this proves that women are treated fairly in Iran. How can you say that, when women are not even allowed to walk with their cousins or friends who are male on the street? Are you kidding me. Iran has take leaps back into time. Times when women were not allowed to be. What a shame!

Paying me? Who would pay me to express my opinion? If you know of anyone let me know because that would be sweet. You know what Kourosh, I lived in Iran till I was 15, then moved to Turkey and then Canada. And since I have been living here I have traveled all over the world. I suggest you do the same to open your eyes, since you are a JOURNALIST!
And you are right living in Canada has impacted my brain and mind, which by the way are the same thing. It has also affected my heart. I realize that 99% of Iranians, you included, are prisoners of 1%.
The Canadian government has done more for my family and I than the Iranian government ever would.
Do you ever ask yourself the question how can one person Ali Khamenei have veto power over the majlis? Or how the basij, a group of illiterate thugs, has more power than the army. Do you ever wonder why the youth in Iran have such issues as unemployment, drugs and prostitution?
I dont pretend like I know, but what I do know is that these western countries that you call enemies do more for immigrants than Iran does for its own people. Look at Ahmadinejad. I saw him being interviewed in Colombia University New York. He is so ignorant claiming there are no homosexuals in Iran.Wow! That is your leader my friend. Cant even speak a word of English.
Anyways Kourosh, we could debate forever, but I suggest that you travel a little without any prejudice or preconceived notions and then make up your mind about the west. I do believe that every government does have its hidden agendas and all politicians do deceive the public, but I also do believe that in countries like Canada freedom is something that every citizen has a right to, no matter what sex race or religion. Can you say that about Iran:
You said ”to observe a new innovation from Iranian people who are famous internationally because of their artistic and cultural approaches during the history.”
Iranians tend to live in the past and are proud of the Persian history. And that’s great, but what is Iran doing now? What kind of social advancement has Iran made in the past 30 years? Besides the turban and the basij....
